Cherry Street Funding is a private money brokerage and capital advisory firm serving real estate investors and operators.
We work exclusively in the business-purpose real estate space, supporting investors and sponsors pursuing bridge, construction, and investor-focused financing. Our role is to help qualified operators structure transactions and connect with private and institutional capital sources that align with today’s market realities.
NOTE: Cherry Street Funding does not originate or offer consumer mortgage loans (FHA, VA, Conventional) at this time.

Kavitha Baratakke
Kavitha Baratakke is the founder of Cherry Street Funding, a private money brokerage serving experienced real estate operators and sponsors.
She brings an owner-operator and sponsor perspective to capital advisory through her work at Cherry Street Investments, where she has held direct ownership and sponsorship roles across multifamily acquisitions, land development, and new construction projects. Her experience spans the full investment lifecycle—from capital formation and acquisition through execution and disposition.
Before starting Cherry Street Investments she was deeply involved in her creating and expanding her own buy-and-hold portfolio as a single family investor since 2009.
A software engineer by education, Kavitha spent nearly two decades in enterprise technology, developing deep expertise in risk management, process rigor, and execution under pressure. She applies that discipline to real estate capital advisory, focusing on thoughtful structuring, sponsor credibility, and execution certainty in today’s market.
